China topped the list of M2M-Connects

Organization GSM Association (GSMA) estimated the global market for M2M-compounds on the basis of 2013.


M2M (Machine-to-Machine) – a common name intercomputer interaction technology that allows devices to communicate with one another, or pass it unilaterally. It can be various monitoring systems, terminals, systems, security and safety, health, telemetry, etc.

It is reported that at the end of the 2013th number of M2M connections worldwide reached approximately 189 million, of which about 40% were in the Asian region: here the number of M2M connections in the period from 2010 to 2013. jumped by 55 million.

But the most major M2M market is now China, which accounts for more than 50 million M2M connections, or about 27%. Over the past three years the number of M2M connections in China rose by 39 million.

Analysts noted that the increase in demand for M2M services in China contributes close interaction leading mobile operators (China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom), state-owned enterprises and authorities. M2M services are especially in demand in the transport sector and energy. Moreover, there is growing M2M connections associated with the automotive industry, health care, retail chains, etc.
