LG 27GK750F-B: gaming monitor with a refresh rate of 240 Hz

| December 23, 2017

LG has been one of the largest players in the LCD display market for many years, yet its gaming monitors are in the shadow of the products of other brands. Realizing that the missed need to get stiff, the South Korean giant decided to offer gamers an unclean product: the 27-inch LG 27GK750F-B model with a fairly strict (against the background of competitors) looks has a matrix with a refresh rate of 240 Hz and supports AMD FreeSync synchronization technology.

By LG’s own admission, the 27GK750F-B panel is overclocked (“DisplayPort OverClock”) and can work either in Motion Blur Reduction mode with a response time of 1 ms (from gray to gray) without activating FreeSync, or in normal mode with a 2 ms response and FreeSync . For those who are not a cybersport or just a fan of dynamic games, the new display is unlikely to be liked, since at 27 inches its resolution is only 1920 × 1080 pixels, and the use of the TN-type matrix causes far from optimal viewing angles (170 ° horizontally and 160 ° vertically) and an unsaturated black color.

Among other things, the matrix used is characterized by the presence of an anti-glare coating, covering 72% of the NTSC color space, a pixel pitch of 0.31 mm, and a maximum luminance level of 400 cd / m². Factory presets allow to optimize LG 27GK750F-B for various genres of games (FPS, RTG), adjust the monitor for reading and watching movies (Black Stabilizer). From the functions of screen overlay, judging by the display specification , only the sight is realized. Typical power consumption is stated at 30 watts, consumption in standby mode is up to 0.5 W.

The ergonomic stand of the model 27GK750F-B allows tilt of the screen in the range from -5 ° to 15 °, height adjustment from 0 to 110 mm, turn in the horizontal plane from -20 ° to 20 ° and turn in the vertical plane by 0-90 ° (portrait mode).

The list of built-in connectors for LG’s gaming novelty is as follows: a pair of HDMI 2.0, a single DisplayPort 1.2a, headphone and external power adapter sockets, USB 3.0 Type-B ports and USB 3.0 Type-A (2 pcs.). The latter are endowed with the fast charging function of gadgets.

Despite the fact that for the first time the monitor 27GK750F-B was demonstrated at the IFA 2017 in Berlin, it started its journey from the US market. The new product LG estimated at $ 549.99, excluding sales tax.
